NextGen Impact Career Roundtable
The NextGen Impact Career Roundtable brought together students, alumni, and practitioners to explore how a career in finance can create positive impact. Panelists Tom Kagerer (Vlinder), Valentin Dal Zotto (Pictet), Rahel Guggenbühl (reilo.) and Thierry Corti (MSCI) shared inspiring insights from their own career journeys and current trends in the industry. Participants gained new perspectives on shaping their own impactful career paths, followed by networking at the Apéro.
Luxcara
Participants learned about Luxcara’s investment strategy across the full clean energy value chain and tackled a hands-on case study, evaluating the financing and risk profile of a solar PV project in Greece. The event concluded with an apéro for further networking and discussions.
Allianz Global Investors
The event with Allianz Global Investors explored how to finance the SDGs in emerging markets. Nadia Nikolova and Michael Schütze shared insights on key challenges such as governance and liquidity risks, the limited share of investments flowing into these markets, and how blended finance can open up new opportunities. The session offered valuable perspectives on innovative approaches like the SDG Loan Fund and concluded with networking and exchange at the Apéro.

The Sustainable
Investment Challenge
The Sustainable Investment Club is proud to co‑lead the Sustainable Investment Challenge at the University of St.Gallen, a hands‑on master’s course where students develop their own financial products that are both profitable and deliver measurable impact. In the 2024 autumn semester, students designed innovative solutions such as a fund to finance solar panels in Ukraine, a derivative supporting sanitation in India, and investments in sustainable cement development. Throughout the course, they received feedback from leading partners including Blue Earth Capital, Julius Baer, and WWF Switzerland. The program culminates in presentations before a jury of academics, practitioners, and SIC members, with the most promising teams encouraged to enter the Kellogg‑Morgan Stanley Sustainable Investing Challenge.

Our Team
We are passionate students from various academic backgrounds, brought together by a common goal to make sustainability a core part of the financial world. What connects us is curiosity, commitment, and the belief that finance can and should be a force for good. Together we turn ideas into action.
