About the Event

We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Aline Vedder, Investment Manager at Ananda Impact Ventures and Elena Walder-Schiavone, Managing Partner at Übermorgen Ventures

During the panel discussion which will be moderated by Prof. Dr. Martin Nerlinger from the HSG School of Finance, Dr. Aline Vedder and Elena Walder-Schiavone will share insights on how impact can be integrated in Venture Capital (VC) investments. Furthermore, we will learn about their motivation to work in this field and about their individual paths that led them to where they are today.

Aline is an Investment Manager at Ananda Impact Ventures. Ananda is a Munich/London based venture capital firm investing in impact businesses across Europe. Prior to joining Ananda Aline formed part of the investment team of Munich based growth fund Acton Capital Partners. She started her career at Rocket Internet in Berlin. Aline holds a Master’s degree from the London School of Economics (LSE) and a PhD degree in Medical Psychology and Sociology from LMU Munich.

Elena is Co-Founder and Managing Director of Übermorgen Ventures, an early-stage venture capital firm for climate tech start-ups. Before she worked as a lawyer in large M&A teams of renowned law firms. Elena specialised on legal advice for startups as one of the first lawyers in Switzerland with her own law firm SMART UP LAW in 2013. She has accompanied more than 100 transactions and capital increases, gaining extensive knowledge in all legal matters relating to startups.

Prof. Dr. Nerlinger is Assistant Professor of Finance at the University of St. Gallen with a focus on Sustainable and Climate Finance, Empirical Asset Pricing, and Risk Management. Previously he was a research assistant at the University of Augsburg. He teaches a master’s level course on climate finance and supervises students in Sustainable Investing Challenges as well as in research seminars and theses. Prof. Dr. Nerlinger has won several prizes and published a number of academic papers in Sustainable and Climate Finance. He has conducted publicly and industry third party funded projects in the areas of Carbon Risk Management, Sustainable Finance, and Portfolio Management.

We strongly encourage in-person participation (following university guidelines, a COVID-pass will be required) as an Apéro will follow the event to offer networking opportunities. However, we will also make an online option available. In both cases, please register with the following link.
